Jul 24, Kathmandu - Tribhuvan International Airport is currently undergoing a major infrastructure expansion. Following the rapid increase in the number of air passengers, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has reviewed the airport's master plan and has gradually expanded its capacity.
Currently, various infrastructure construction works are underway at the airport at a cost of about 15 billion rupees. Among them, the construction of taxiways connecting to the runway, parallel taxiways, international and domestic aprons, as well as special hangars for domestic flights is progressing at a rapid pace.
These infrastructures are expected to increase the airport's operational capacity, facilitate air traffic, and qualitatively improve the passenger experience.
