28-Year-Old Man Commits Suicide During Live Video in Kanchanpur's Bedkot Municipality

Sep 14, Kathmandu - A 28-year-old man in Bedkot Municipality of Kanchanpur committed suicide while making a live video on social media. The man, identified as Naresh Dhanuk, died on the spot on Friday night, according to the District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Sagar Bohara, Information Officer of the District Police Office, Kanchanpur, the body of the deceased has been handed over to the family after a postmortem at the Mahakali Provincial Hospital in Mahendranagar.

Before committing suicide, Dhanuk had alleged in a live video that Nepali Congress members Ambar Bohara, Bhojraj Pant, Khemraj Bohara and Janak Dhanuk had beaten him up and stripped him naked, calling him a "Gen-Z".

Police arrested all four people named in the video on Saturday for investigation in a suicide abetment case based on a complaint filed by the deceased's wife, Rama Dhanuk.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bohara said that a detailed investigation is underway into the incident. In the video, Dhanuk shows injuries to his fingers and head. He complains that he did not get support even from his family and says that he was forced to commit suicide due to 'social oppression'.

Dhanuk was working as a driver in Dhangadhi. He has a son and a daughter.
