Two accused have absconded from the Morang District Court premises along with handcuffs.
He was arrested in a drug case and taken to the court for an extension. He escaped from the court premises on Monday.
Among the absconders are Manaraj Sheikh, 37, of Katahari Village Municipality-4 and Prakash Chaudhary, 20, of Birtamod Municipality-5 of Jhapa.
A team from the Bureau of Drug Control, Biratnagar, arrested Sheikh on Sunday with brown heroin from Katahari and Chaudhary with drugs from Bargachhi. The court had extended their term by five days.
Police said that they may have fled to India with handcuffs. An investigation has been launched against the police saying that they may have escaped in the setting of the police.
