Jun 06, Kathmandu - The Prabhu Shamsher and Raji Rana Fund has provided Rs 1 million for the maintenance of chimpanzees kept at the Central Zoo.
The Central Zoo has stated that the fund has been providing the same amount every year for the past four years.
The fund has provided a check worth Rs 1.5 million to operate the ‘Historical 3D Lion Cage Museum’ at the zoo.
Fund Chairman Raji Rana handed over the amount to Zoo Chief Satya Narayan Shah on Friday on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Meanwhile, redcurrant saplings have been planted at the zoo on the occasion of World Environment Day.
On Friday itself, Office Chief Shah presented awards to 25 students of ‘Friends of Zoo’ for their outstanding contribution to environmental conservation.
