15-Foot-Long Python Found in Jhapa

Jun 07, Kathmandu - A 15-foot-long python was found near a path near Matachowk in Mechinagar Municipality-4 of Jhapa and has been rescued.

Locals immediately informed the Bahundangi Police Station after seeing the python at around 11 pm last night.

As soon as the information was received, a police team reached the spot and rescued it safely and kept it at the Bahundangi Police Station, informed Suman Baniya, Police Inspector of the District Police Office.

According to him, coordination has been made with the Division Forest Office, Bahundangi, for the rescue and management of the python.

Pythons, elephants and other wild animals occasionally enter settlements near the forest area here.

Police have urged locals to not go near such wild animals and immediately inform the concerned agencies if they see such wild animals.
