27 Terrorists Killed in Pakistani Military Attack

Jun 08, Kathmandu - Pakistani security forces have killed 27 terrorists in a series of intelligence-based operations in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the last 72 hours, the Pakistan Army's Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Sunday.

According to the army, security forces carried out operations on various terrorist hideouts in the Miran Shah area.

27 terrorists were killed in the fierce gunfight that ensued.

Arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.

The groups are said to be involved in targeted killings of civilians and various terrorist activities in the area.

The army said that the attack was avenged for the killing of local influential figure Malik Saifullah Dawar in Miran Shah and that the people involved in the attack were taken into custody through the operation.

The army said that further clearance operations are underway to make the area completely free from terrorism and that this operation is part of the country's ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.
