80 daughters-in-law Honored for Serving their in-laws

Jun 12, Kathmandu - Sandhikharka Municipality of Arghakhanchi has honored 80 dutiful daughters-in-law.

The 80 dutiful daughters-in-law have been honored at a time when the tradition of caring for elderly parents is weakening. Mayor Krishna Prasad Shrestha said that the honor was given to appreciate the contribution of daughters-in-law who have been serving their in-laws and staying at home.

The 80 daughters-in-law who regularly take care of senior citizens aged 85 to 90, selected from 12 wards of the municipality, were honored during a program.

Pramod Khanal, Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality, and Belkumari Pariyar, Head of the Women, Children and Senior Citizens Section, said that the daughters-in-law who take care of the elderly daily, help them defecate, arrange for food, administer medicine on time, and provide necessary care were selected and honored based on the recommendation of the ward office.
