Israeli Finance Minister Criticizes U.S.-Iran Deal, Warns of Threat to Global Security

Jun 15, Kathmandu - Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has strongly criticized the recent U.S.-Iran nuclear agreement, labeling it a detrimental deal for Israel and the entire free world.

On social media platform X, Smotrich emphasized that Israel must continue its campaign against Iran independently. "Israel must take necessary steps to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons," he stated.

He also highlighted the successes of joint U.S.-Israel efforts in weakening Iran, asserting that these achievements should not be squandered.

Previously, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir expressed similar concerns, criticizing the agreement for not guaranteeing Israel's security and stating that Israel is not a partner to the deal. "We will not be bound by this agreement in any way," he declared.

Both Smotrich and Ben-Gvir are known as hardline right-wing leaders in Israel. They have faced bans from the UK and other countries over alleged incitement to violence against the Palestinian community.
