Confederation of Nepalese Industries Calls for Halt on Power Line Disconnections

Jun 18, Kathmandu - The Confederation of Nepalese Industries has requested a halt on disconnection of power lines within industrial zones until the final legal resolution of ongoing rental disputes.

The issue revolves around a Supreme Court decision dated Chaitra 12, 2081 BS, which ruled that the new rent rates increased by Industrial Zone Management Limited would only be applicable from Asadha 22, 2079 BS.

Despite industrialists accepting the court's decision, the Federation states that Industrial Zone Management Limited is seeking a review of the Supreme Court ruling.

Additionally, some industries have already paid the revised rent as per the court's verdict, while others are attempting to do so but are facing a short deadline of seven days. In light of this, the Federation has also requested an extension of the payment deadline.
