Jun 20, Kathmandu - The Nepalese Communist Party (NCP) has decided to send leader Barshaman Pun to attend the first convention of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), scheduled to commence in Chitwan from Sunday.
The RSP had extended an invitation to NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to participate in the inaugural ceremony. However, due to health issues, Dahal will not be able to attend, and instead, Reun will represent the NCP.
Govinda Acharya, Press Advisor to Chairman Prachanda, confirmed the development, stating, “He was initially expected to go. He left yesterday, but it became difficult for him to participate. As he needs to rest for a couple of days, he will not be able to attend the convention.”
Prachanda was hospitalized on Jestha 16 and discharged after a few days of treatment. Due to his ongoing health concerns, he will not be participating in the RSP convention.
The UML (Communist Party of Nepal - Unified Marxist-Leninist) will be sending Central Member Pradeep Ghimire to the event. Additionally, Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Rajendra Lingden is expected to participate, while Harak Sampang, President of the Shram Sanskriti Party, has also announced his absence.
