Gold and Silver Prices Continue to Surge in Nepal: Record Highs Achieved

Jun 22, Kathmandu - The prices of gold and silver in Nepal have seen a significant increase today, maintaining the upward trend from previous days. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers, the price of gold has risen by NPR 1,400 per tola, reaching NPR 288,700.

Yesterday, gold prices had decreased by NPR 1,050 per tola but rebounded today with a gain of NPR 600, bringing the current rate to NPR 287,300 per tola. Similarly, silver prices have also surged, increasing by NPR 40 per tola to NPR 4,730, up from NPR 4,690 yesterday.

Historically, the highest recorded price of gold was NPR 339,300 per tola on Magh 15, when prices jumped by NPR 20,500. Silver prices peaked earlier on the same date at NPR 7,505 per tola, marking the highest point ever recorded for silver in Nepal.

However, silver experienced a significant drop on Magh 18, falling by NPR 1,565 per tola — the largest decline to date.

Experts attribute this volatility to fluctuating international markets and economic uncertainties, which continue to impact precious metal prices in Nepal.
