Protests Erupt in Bhaktapur Over Errors in Class 12 Results and Evaluation Process

Jun 26, Kathmandu - The All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU) staged a protest in front of the National Examination Board in Bhaktapur, demanding an investigation into errors in the publication and evaluation process of Class 12 results.

Students and activists criticized the mistakes made during the announcement of the results, as well as the lack of effective procedures for re-evaluation and re-totalling. They held up placards demanding justice for students, an end to unfair practices in education, an investigation into irregularities, accountability for responsible officials, and the establishment of educational justice.

ANNISU General Secretary Anjana Shivakoti emphasized the need for reforms in the education sector, stating that the errors in the Class 12 results have jeopardized students' futures. She urged the government to take the matter seriously and ensure accurate results are announced promptly. Protesters also called for disciplinary action against officials responsible for the mistakes, highlighting the importance of transparency and fairness in the examination process.
