Jul 01, Kathmandu - The selection process for vice chancellors at eight major universities in Nepal has reached a significant milestone, with three candidates shortlisted for each institution. The University Vice Chancellors Selection and Recommendation Committee has finalized these names, according to sources.
Shree Prasad Bhattarai, Deputy Secretary at the Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education and Sports, confirmed the development. The ministry's sources revealed that the shortlisted candidates are for the vice chancellor positions at Tribhuvan University, Agriculture and Forestry University, Pokhara University, Eastern University, Lumbini Buddhist University, Mid-West University, Far-West University, and Janak University.
From each group of three candidates, the committee will recommend one name to the respective university's Chancellor. The Chancellor, who is predominantly the Prime Minister, will then appoint one of the recommended candidates as the Vice Chancellor for each university.
