Jul 07, Kathmandu - Home Minister Sudan Gurung has ramped up unannounced inspections at border checkpoints, district administration offices, and police offices across various districts to enhance security and service delivery.

Actively conducting on-the-ground inspections, Gurung aims to understand the current state of border security and anti-smuggling efforts while evaluating the effectiveness of government services.

Recently, he visited the Kankadbhitta border checkpost in Jhapa and the Danakuta border checkpost in Dhankuta, gathering firsthand information on security conditions and service provision.

Before this, the Home Minister secretly inspected the border areas between Parsa and Bara districts, engaging directly with locals to discuss issues related to smuggling and the roles of security agencies.

Following these inspections, Gurung directed security agencies to focus on curbing smuggling through auxiliary check posts and emphasized the importance of strengthening border security and public services based on local feedback and on-the-spot assessments.

The government appears to prioritize improving border security and public service delivery, reflecting the significance of these inspections in addressing local concerns and enhancing national security.
