India and Indonesia Strengthen Ties with Key Bilateral Talks in Jakarta

Jul 07, Kathmandu - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indonesian President Joko Widodo held bilateral talks at Istana Mardeka in Jakarta. The discussions focused on expanding cooperation under their comprehensive strategic partnership, covering trade and investment, defense and security, maritime cooperation, energy, health and pharmaceuticals, space exploration, critical minerals and rare metals, culture, tourism, and people-to-people connections.

Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and discussed global and multilateral issues of mutual interest, according to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

During the meeting, India and Indonesia exchanged bilateral agreements in various sectors, including maritime security, space collaboration, defense, steel supply chains, rare metals, health, agriculture, and science and technology, aiming to deepen their strategic partnership.
