Jul 09, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Balen Shah held a crucial discussion with construction industry stakeholders today to address issues in the sector, promote growth, and explore avenues for infrastructure development, investment climate improvement, and economic reforms.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Office with officials from the Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs Association, Prime Minister Shah emphasized that the construction sector is a vital pillar of the country's economic growth, employment generation, and infrastructure development. He assured the government’s positive stance toward resolving the sector's challenges.
Shah highlighted the need for the industry to be disciplined, transparent, responsible, and results-oriented, urging active collaboration among all parties to ensure timely completion of development and construction projects.
The discussion was attended by Nicholas Pande, President of the Nepal Construction Entrepreneurs Association; Senior Vice President Mukesh Panta; General Secretary Shiva Hari Ghimire; Baghmati Province Vice President Balakrishna Thapa; and former president and advisor Jayaram Lamichhane.
Participants shared concerns regarding payment delays, contract management, project timelines, price adjustments, banking, and investment issues faced by the construction industry. They emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the government and the private sector to revitalize the industry.
Senior advisors Kumar Byanjanakar, Bibek Mishra, and Principal Private Secretary Subash Sharma also participated in the discussion.
