Nepal’s National Parks Go Digital: E-Ticketing System Successfully Piloted at Shivapuri-Nagarjun Reserve

Jul 19, Kathmandu - In line with the government’s goal to make public services more tech-friendly and digital, a successful trial of the e-ticketing (electronic ticketing) system has been conducted at Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.

The new system aims to make visitor entry procedures easier, faster, and more transparent. Following the successful pilot, the park authorities will officially launch the e-ticketing service from the water source area and Nagarjun entrance gates starting next week.

To ensure smooth operation, necessary equipment such as computers, thermal printers, and QR scanners are being installed. The plan also includes gradually expanding this system to other entry points and checkpoints with electricity and internet access.

Within the next six months, the government aims to implement e-ticketing across all national parks and wildlife reserves nationwide. Once fully operational, the system is expected to facilitate organized visitor flow, increase revenue transparency, and provide visitors with quick and hassle-free services.
