Jul 23, Kathmandu - Authorities have seized a significant quantity of marijuana hidden inside a fruit truck in Siraha district. A team from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) intercepted the vehicle and recovered 652 kilograms of cannabis from the premises of Shyam Kumari Sah’s residence in Lahan Municipality-3 on Wednesday.

According to DSP Jeevan Niraula of the bureau, the marijuana was concealed beneath the fruits in a pickup truck bearing license plate BA 21 CHA 5866, parked at the scene.

The crackdown led to the arrest of three individuals involved in drug trafficking. Those apprehended include 38-year-old Shyam Kumari Sah from Lahan Municipality-3, 19-year-old Shivam Sah, and Gaurav Mahato, a 38-year-old Indian national.

The suspects, along with the seized narcotics, have been handed over to the Lahan Area Police Office for further investigation, DSP Niraula confirmed.
