Jul 25, Kathmandu - Nepal Communist Party (UML) and Nepal Communist Party have reached a three-point agreement on forming a coalition government and enhancing cooperation at the provincial level. The agreement was signed on Saturday by UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The pact aims to address recent issues such as misunderstandings in budget preparation within provincial assemblies, the absence of budgets, and unhealthy political competition. Both parties have agreed to work together to foster political stability, good governance, prosperity, and accelerated regional development.

According to the agreement, the UML will lead the governments in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces. Meanwhile, the CPN (Maoist Centre) will take charge of governance in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The parties also agreed to consult with other political entities represented in provincial assemblies regarding leadership and participation in governments in Madhesh and Gandaki provinces, ensuring inclusive decision-making and cooperation.
