Jul 26, Kathmandu - The question paper for the first semester of Master’s in Business Studies (MBS) at Tribhuvan University’s Faculty of Management has been leaked online, raising serious questions about exam confidentiality and fairness.

On August 8, during the exam for the postgraduate course on ‘Organizational Behavior,’ the question paper was reportedly shared within minutes of the exam start on social media platforms. The paper was leaked through a WhatsApp group named ‘MBS First Semester Section C,’ shortly after the exam commenced at 12:00 PM.

According to sources, the question paper was circulated around 12:05 PM on the WhatsApp group, which has over 1,023 members. The leak was first brought to public attention by the Facebook page ‘TU Students,’ which shared screenshots of the WhatsApp conversation, prompting concerns over the security and credibility of the examination process.

Screenshots reveal that a person identified as ‘Sulabh Sir’ sent the question paper, followed by a message from Keshav Bhatt requesting the solutions. Minutes later, Sulabh reportedly shared a PDF file containing the leaked questions. The contents of this PDF remain undisclosed.

Additionally, a member named Sujan Poudel expressed concern about being late for the upcoming Economics exam, asking not to share the questions again. These developments have intensified scrutiny over the exam’s integrity.

In response, the Dean's Office of Tribhuvan University’s Faculty of Management has issued a formal letter to the Cyber Bureau, requesting an investigation into the leak. Assistant Dean Dr. Bharat Rai addressed the Cyber Bureau on Saturday, urging action to identify those responsible and uphold the examination’s confidentiality.

“The leak of the Organizational Behavior question paper shared across various WhatsApp groups has seriously compromised the integrity of the examination,” the letter states. It also mentions the names and phone numbers of individuals involved, including ‘Sulabh Sir (9812...),’ requesting legal action against those responsible.

The Examination Control Department has formed a three-member investigation committee, led by Prof. Achyut Gyawali, to probe the incident. Deputy Director of the Monitoring Directorate, Dr. Pushkar Raikhala, and Prof. Mahesh Raj Oza, a member of the Central Examination Administration Committee, have been appointed as members. The committee has been tasked with uncovering the facts and submitting a report within seven working days.

This incident has cast a shadow over the examination system at Tribhuvan University, prompting authorities to review security measures to prevent future leaks and ensure fair assessments for students.
