Jul 30, Kathmandu - A man wounded in a police shooting in Dewangunj on Sunday night has succumbed to his injuries, bringing the death toll in the incident to two.

The deceased, 22-year-old Jayprakash Mehta of Dewanganj-3, was receiving treatment at Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar. According to Morang Police spokesperson DSP Makendra Kumar Mishra, Mehta was declared dead in the afternoon on Thursday at around 1:24 PM.

The incident also injured eight other individuals, who are currently undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Birat Nursing Home, and Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar. In total, over 22 people, including security personnel, were injured in the incident.
