Tensions Rise Between Communities in Janakpur; Curfew Imposed in Urban Areas

Jul 30, Kathmandu - Tensions between two communities have escalated, prompting authorities to impose a curfew in the urban areas of Janakpur. District Chief Prem Prasad Luitel confirmed that the curfew would take effect from 3:30 PM today.

The decision was made during a meeting of the District Security Committee, he added.

Similarly, the local administration in Golbazar, Siraha District, has also imposed a curfew in the surrounding areas.

The curfew was enacted based on an analysis of the current security situation, which indicated the potential for protests, violence, and disruption of peace. The district security committee took this step to maintain order and safety.
