Jul 30, Kathmandu - Former King Gyanendra Shah has expressed his heartfelt concern and called on all Nepalese to exercise restraint and foster mutual harmony in response to recent clashes and disputes in Siraha and Sunsari.

In a statement issued from Nirmal Nivas, he voiced his worries about the damage to public trust and emphasized that Nepal’s rich diversity—comprising multiple ethnicities, languages, and cultures—is its pride and identity. He urged everyone to prevent any actions that could threaten this unity.

Highlighting Nepal’s tradition of living in harmony and reconciliation, Gyanendra Shah stated that such undesirable incidents go against the country’s fundamental values and principles.

“We must live together as Nepalis, wherever we are. This is the need of the hour,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Balen Shah has yet to comment publicly on the situation. He has only shown sympathy through social media regarding the recent clashes in Sunsari.
