Jul 31, Kathmandu - According to the flood forecast bulletin issued by the Hydrology and Meteorology Department, as of this morning's measurements, the flow levels of Nepal's major rivers remain below alert thresholds.

The Koshi, Narayani, Bagmati, Karnali, Mahakali, and their tributaries, along with the Kankai, Kamala, Babai, Eastern Rapti, and Western Rapti rivers, are currently flowing within normal ranges.

However, there is a potential for increased flow in small rivers crossing 21 districts on Friday. The department has warned of a medium risk of sudden flooding in small rivers flowing through Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Dolakha, Ramechhap, Kavrepalanchok, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Sindhupalchok, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha, Lamjung, Tanahun, Syangja, Kaski, Parbat, Doti, Dadeldhura, and surrounding areas.

Forecasts also indicate that some small rivers in the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces may experience a sudden rise in flow tomorrow.

Additionally, on the upcoming day, Shrawan 17, there is a possibility of increased flow in small rivers across the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces. The department has urged residents living near riverbanks to stay alert and exercise caution.
