Aug 06, Kathmandu - The Armed Police Force (APF) has successfully rescued three hikers from Pokhara who had been stranded in the forested mountain terrain.

At 10:55 AM today, a team from the APF, led by Inspector Sajan Shrestha of the 24th Battalion headquartered in Kalika, Nepal Police, retrieved the hikers from the foothills of Annapurna Rural Municipality-11, Chhomrong. The rescued individuals are 24-year-old Ajit Jisi, and 23-year-olds Yukesh Gurung and Dipesh Gurung, all residents of Pokhara-14 Khahibazar.

The hikers had spent the night in an overhang shelter after getting lost in the jungle during their trekking expedition. The rescue was delayed yesterday due to high water flow in Modi River, which made access impossible. Authorities had to cut power lines and carefully navigate around live electrical poles and wires to reach the stranded climbers.

The rescue operation highlights the challenging terrain and unpredictable weather conditions faced by trekkers in the region. The hikers are now safe and receiving medical attention.
