Nepal Police Seize Illegal Red Panda Skin in Bhaktapur Hotel, Arrest One Suspect

Aug 10, Kathmandu - Authorities have apprehended a man involved in the illegal trade of Red Panda skins at a hotel in Dudhpatni, Bhaktapur Municipality-1. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Bhupendra Bahadur Kathayat of Thotigaund, Dailekh, was detained by police on Saturday afternoon.

Following a tip-off about the concealment of Red Panda skins at Resunga Thakali & Kitchen Hotel, a police team from the District Police Office in Bhaktapur conducted a search at the premises. During the search, they found the suspect in possession of a Red Panda hide and arrested him on the spot.

The suspect has been handed over to the Division Forest Office in Bhaktapur for further investigation and legal action.
