Aug 16, Kathmandu - Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal expressed deep sorrow over the earthquake that struck Flores Island, Indonesia, causing significant loss of life and property.

Having experienced the devastation firsthand, Nepal conveyed its understanding of the pain and suffering caused by natural disasters. Through social media, Minister Khanal extended solidarity and sympathy on behalf of the Government and the people of Nepal to the Indonesian government and its citizens.

He offered heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones in the earthquake and wished a swift recovery for the injured.

Minister Khanal also prayed for the safety, rescue, and relief of all those affected, displaced, or missing, and called for prompt rehabilitation efforts.
