Aug 17, Kathmandu - ​​​​​​​Manpower business in Nepal operators have withdrawn their protests after positive discussions with the government. The protest, which was initiated over demands related to their operations, has been called off following assurances from authorities.

The dialogue involved representatives from the Foreign Employment Association, advisors, officials from the Ministry of Labour, and the Secretary of Labour. During the talks, business leaders agreed to send workers abroad, signaling a step toward resolving ongoing issues.

The protest was initially launched over 15 demands, but after today's talks, the association announced that the government has committed to addressing their concerns within 30 to 45 days. 

Dik Bahadur Khatri, President of the association, expressed optimism about the discussions, stating, "The government has assured us that they will address our 15 demands. Since fulfilling these will require certain procedures, it may take some time. Recently, detailed discussions have taken place regarding service fee management, legal amendments, and possible modifications to protest formats as needed."

The Ministry of Youth, Labour, and Employment issued a statement confirming the withdrawal of the protest programs, assuring that they will make maximum efforts to meet the association’s demands.
