Nepal Honors Indian Army Chief Dhiraj Seth with Honorary Major General Title

Aug 17, Kathmandu - ​​​​​​​President Ram Chandra Paudel has awarded Indian Army Chief Dhiraj Seth the honorary rank of Major General in the Nepalese Army. 

The special ceremony took place at the Shital Niwas, the President's residence, on Monday, where President Paudel conferred the prestigious title upon Seth. This honor continues the tradition between Nepal and India, established in 1950, of bestowing honorary ranks to each other's army chiefs.

Dhiraj Seth arrived in Nepal on Sunday afternoon for a three-day official visit. 

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, senior officials from the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Army, as well as the Indian Ambassador to Nepal.
