Aug 23, Kathmandu - The Ministry of Youth, Labour and Employment of Nepal has officially distanced itself from naming the current acting ambassador to Malaysia, highlighting a recent lapse in official communication. The ministry issued a clarification through a press release on Saturday, Bhadra 6.

The controversy arose after media reports claimed that Nepal had designated only 25 foreign employment agencies in Malaysia to send Nepali workers, prompting the ministry to issue a statement. The press release stated that during a meeting on Bhadra 6, 2083, the Honorable Minister of Youth, Labour and Employment met with the Acting Ambassador of Nepal to Malaysia, Mohammad Firdous Ajman, for discussions and consultations.

However, the release erroneously referred to Mohd Firdaus Bin Azman as the "Acting Ambassador of Nepal to Malaysia," when in fact, he is the acting representative of Nepal in Malaysia. The actual acting ambassador is Mudita Bajracharya.

Despite the serious mistake, the ministry has not issued any correction. Over 24 hours after the release was published, the official statement still erroneously referred to Mohd Firdaus Bin Azman as the acting ambassador, and the incorrect information remains on the ministry’s website.

This oversight underscores the need for meticulous communication within diplomatic and government channels to prevent misinformation.
