VAT Details can now be Corrected Online within Seven Days

Aug 25, Kathmandu - The Department of Internal Revenue has launched a new taxpayer portal with the aim of making the tax system more transparent, technology-friendly and taxpayer-friendly.

According to Keshav Raghuvanshi, Director of the Department, through the new taxpayer portal that has been launched from today, taxpayers will be able to correct even minor errors in their VAT details online.

Earlier, if there was any error while filling out the VAT details, they had to go to the concerned tax office to correct it. According to the new arrangement, now the VAT details can be corrected online within seven days of submitting them.

The department has stated that the new portal has also made the process of tax deduction at source more systematic. From now on, arrangements have been made to submit tax deduction at source details every month.

Although the new taxpayer portal has been launched from today, all the technical facilities included in it will be fully operational within the next one month, the department has stated.

The new portal provides various types of revenue-related services including permanent account number, value added tax, excise duty, etc.

To use the new taxpayer portal, you can log in to the department's website and go to the new taxpayer portal within it through the electronic service.

The department expects that the new system will make it easier for taxpayers to access tax-related services and reduce the need to visit the office.
