Saudi-based Nepali Community Extends Support to Victims of Devastating Floods

Aug 28, Kathmandu - The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Saudi Arabia has contributed Rs. 5 lakh to aid those affected in the destructive flood in Bhote Koshi River. The funds will be directed to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to assist residents of districts including Rasuwagadhi, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Gorkha, who have suffered extensive damage due to natural calamities.

NRNA Saudi Arabia, comprising elected officials and members, collected the amount and expressed solidarity with the victims of the natural disaster. Umesh Bhattarai, President of NRNA Saudi Arabia, stated that immediate relief and rescue efforts are crucial for the affected families and emphasized the organization’s commitment to expanding its aid initiatives.

“We have initially contributed Rs. 500 thousand. As the relief campaign continues, our goal is to raise even more funds and extend further assistance in the coming days,” Bhattarai said.

Additionally, NRNA Saudi Arabia has urged the Nepali community residing in Saudi Arabia to participate in the relief efforts within their capacity, fostering collective support for disaster-affected compatriots back home.
