Sep 01, Kathmandu - In flood-affected regions, the use of cutting-edge technology has significantly accelerated search and rescue efforts. The Prime Minister's Secretariat reported the deployment of 12 drones across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts.

In remote areas where foot patrols are challenging, drones are assisting in monitoring and search operations, the Secretariat added.

"Five trained sniffer dogs are being utilized for search activities, and seven satellite phones have been deployed in inaccessible regions for communication and information sharing," the Prime Minister's Secretariat stated in a press release issued on Tuesday.

A total of 67 personnel are engaged in on-site investigations and documentation, while 715 police officers have been deployed across various districts for body identification and management.

Special teams, including Crime Scene Officers and forensic experts conducting DNA tests and scientific examinations of recovered bodies, have also been mobilized in the affected areas.
