Two Bodies have been Recovered from Langtang River Hydropower Tunnel in Rasuwa

Sep 03, Kathmandu - Two bodies have been recovered from the project tunnel. The Nepali Army's rescue team extracted the bodies, as confirmed by Project General Manager Bijay Mani Bhattarai at the Langtang River Hydropower Project in Rasuwa.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.

Earlier, the government rescue team attempted to enter the tunnel from the main access road, but they could not proceed beyond approximately 100 meters. Subsequently, a technical team involved in the search and rescue operations managed to locate the bodies about 150 meters inside the tunnel.

The 20-megawatt Langtang River Hydropower Project employs 60 staff members, of whom 25 are still unaccounted for.
