Aruna Adhikari, a Nepali-born entrepreneur, establishes KairosHelix to revolutionize clinical trial data management with AI-driven solutions

Sep 04, Kathmandu - Aruna Adhikari, a Nepali-origin entrepreneur, has founded KairosHelix, a cutting-edge clinical technology company in the United States. The firm is developing innovative systems that leverage artificial intelligence (AI), mathematics, statistics, and evidence-based approaches to collect, unify, and reuse knowledge generated from clinical trials.

Clinical trials produce vast amounts of data, including protocols, reports, operational details, and expert decisions. However, this information is often scattered across different systems, making it challenging to utilize past trial insights effectively in future research. Addressing this gap, KairosHelix aims to transform accumulated clinical knowledge into usable intellectual information, ensuring data security and human oversight in high-risk regulatory research.

The company has assembled a 25-member team and has already developed a platform dedicated to clinical trial intelligence. It is also collaborating with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and biotech firms. Additionally, KairosHelix has filed 11 provisional patent applications covering areas such as trial planning, research center recommendations, synthetic data, and AI-based regulatory compliance.

Adhikari’s concept stems from her extensive experience in mathematics, engineering, entrepreneurial technology, and clinical research. Having moved from Nepal to the U.S. at age 16, she has dedicated herself to advancing her passion for math and technology through various roles. Her efforts in AI and biotech were recognized in 2024 when she was honored among PharmaVOICE’s “100 Most Inspiring People.”

During her clinical research work, Adhikari identified a critical gap: while clinical trials document “what happened,” they often lack systematic recording of “why decisions were made,” including the reasoning and rationale behind key choices. Her company’s system seeks to address this by securely capturing and linking knowledge from past trials, enabling future research to benefit from historical insights.
