Sep 06, Kathmandu - Nepal's recent flood disaster has claimed the lives of at least 1,341 people, with 4,996 individuals still unaccounted for, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. The figures are accurate as of 11 a.m. on Sunday.

The district worst hit is Chitwan, where 362 bodies have been recovered. Other severely affected areas include Nawalparasi East with 222 fatalities, Nawalparasi West with 220, Nuwakot with 195, Rusuva with 163, Gorkha with 74, Dhading with 67, and Tanahun with 38.

In addition, 6,075 flood-injured individuals have received medical treatment. Of these, 316 patients were treated at hospitals, while 3,297 were treated by the Nepalese Army and 2,462 by the Armed Police Force.

Security agencies, including the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force, have conducted rescue operations for a total of 13,904 people. Among those rescued, 304 are foreign nationals.

A total of 21,465 security personnel have been deployed for search and rescue missions, comprising 7,975 from Nepal Police, 9,287 from the Nepal Army, and 4,203 from the Armed Police Force.

The government has announced financial aid to support the affected regions, providing NPR 1 million each to Rusuva and Nuwakot, NPR 500,000 to Dhading, and a total of NPR 13.5 million to 15 affected municipalities. Relief efforts continue with the distribution of food, non-food supplies, and rescue operations via air transport.
