Sep 06, Kathmandu - The District Administration Office, Gorkha, has urged people not to travel via the Manaslu and Larke Pass trekking routes. Issuing a public notice today, Sunday, it has urged those who are preparing for the trek or are on the trek not to trek until further notice is published.

This morning, the flood in the Therang River in Namrung has caused great damage to the trekking routes, hotels, and hydroelectric projects in the area.

The flood has also washed away the iron bridge connecting Ward No. 4 and Ward No. 2 of Chumanubri Rural Municipality and the suspension bridge over the Budhi Gandaki River leading from Gap to Namrung Forest, the administration has said.

'On Bhadra 21, 2083 at around 3:30 am, the Therangkhola in Chumanubri Rural Municipality-4, Namrung, flooded and washed away the iron bridge connecting Chumanubri Rural Municipality-4 and 2 and the suspension bridge over the Budhigandaki River leading from Gap to Namrung Forest. Therefore, this notice has been published for the information of all concerned, and hikers who are preparing or traveling for the Manaslu Trek or Larke Pass Trek should not trek until further notice is published,' the notice issued by the administration said.
