Medical Practitioner Durga Prasai Sent Home by Police at Tribhuvan Airport

Sep 14, Kathmandu - Durga Prasai, a prominent medical professional, was sent home by police upon her arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. He reached Kathmandu via a flight from Bhadrapur, Jhapa, on Monday afternoon (Bhadra 29) and intended to hold a program at the airport. However, authorities informed him that conducting any event within the airport premises was not permitted, and he was asked to return to her residence.

According to SP Dan Bahadur Thapa of the Kathmandu District Police Office, Prasai was not detained but was advised to go to her home in Bhaktapur. “We did not arrest him. We simply told her that holding a program here is not allowed, and she has been directed to her house,” he clarified.

This is not the first instance where police have escorted Prasai from the airport to her residence in her vehicle.
