Sep 18, Kathmandu - The district has reported a total of 32 confirmed dengue cases, according to the latest update from the District Public Health Office. The infections have been recorded from Shrawan 1 to Ashwin 1, spanning over the past two months.

Public Health Officer Shishir Pudasaini stated that Bena Municipality and Panchkhal Municipality have the highest number of cases, with 13 infections each. In the last 24 hours alone, three new cases have been confirmed, including one each in Panchkhal, Namo Buddha Municipality, and Mandan Deupur Municipality.

The health office also clarified that Dhulikhel, Panuti municipalities, and Bhumul, Roshi, Timal, Khani Khola, Bethan Chok, Mabhara, and Chaurideurali Rural Municipalities have reported no dengue cases so far.

In the previous fiscal year, Kavre recorded 59 dengue cases. Public health officials warn that the monsoon season creates favorable conditions for mosquito breeding, which could lead to further spread of the disease. Therefore, awareness campaigns and cleanliness drives are being intensified to prevent outbreaks.

The Public Health Office has urged residents to protect themselves from mosquito bites by eliminating stagnant water around homes and wearing long-sleeved clothing. They also advised those experiencing symptoms like fever, headache, or body pain to seek immediate medical testing and treatment.
