Sep 19, Kathmandu - Nepali sports journalist Nabin Aryal’s book, ‘Nepal–Japan Sports Relations’, was officially launched today at Diyalo Restaurant in Nagoya, Japan.

The book was unveiled by Harihar Kant Poudel, the Acting Charge d’Affaires of Nepal in Japan, during a ceremony attended by prominent dignitaries. Among the guests were Senior Vice President of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Rabin Prasad Sherchan, President of the Nepal Soft Tennis Association and Honorary President of the International Soft Tennis Federation Binay Bikram Shah, former karate athlete Dev Ghimire, ISKA World Champion Aviral Ghimire, Mona ICC Vice President Deepak K.C., NRNA Japan Secretary General Shyam Sital Shrestha, and Yoman Dewan, Coordinator of NRNA Japan Nagoya Regional Committee.

During the program, Poudel praised Aryal’s book, stating, “Through Nabin Aryal’s work, understanding Nepal-Japan relations will become much easier. We have been connected through sports even before establishing diplomatic ties with Japan five years ago, and this book reveals that history.”

He expressed confidence that the book would serve as a milestone for Nepal-Japan relations.

Sherchan expressed his gratitude to Aryal for providing an opportunity to understand the sporting relationship between the two countries. “This book is an excellent document not only for Nepal but also for the Japanese government,” he said. “It highlights the friendship between Nepal and Japan through sports, especially for us Nepalis living in Japan.”

The book also notes that Nepal and Japan established their sports relations 75 years ago, a fact highlighted by the author in his work.

The event commenced at 7 p.m. Japanese time and was attended by various dignitaries, including Vice President of Galkot Society of Japan, Bhesh Nath Gautam, businessman Dilaram Kharel, intellectual and former NRNA Nagoya Regional Committee Deputy Coordinator Navaraj Chapagai, current NRNA Nagoya Regional Committee Deputy Coordinator Yaam Bahadur Paija Magar, local journalist Kavikiran Neupane, and Nishan Rana. The program was hosted by journalist Kanta Giri.
