Sep 21, Kathmandu - Bollywood superstar Salman Khan delivered a fierce message to social media trolls during the second ‘Vikend ka War’ episode of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss 20’. Expressing strong disapproval of body-shaming and ageism, Salman openly addressed the growing negativity online.

Responding to those who mock him for being ‘old,’ Salman proudly admitted he is 60 years old. He then took off his cap, jacket, and T-shirt on stage to reveal his abs and showcase his fitness, emphasizing that age is just a number.

During the episode aired on Saturday, Salman discussed how social media has become a double-edged sword—creating jobs and recognition for many, but also fostering rampant trolling. He highlighted how people often make hasty comments about others’ bodies, weight, faces, families, laughter, and even personal failures or motherhood.

Questioning the mindset of trolls, Salman asked, “How can someone who is unhappy with their own face or body criticize a stranger’s appearance?” He pointed out that trolls often have families—mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters—so they should consider how it feels when such remarks are made about their loved ones.

Addressing body shaming of women, Salman explained that weight gain after motherhood is natural. He emphasized that women who choose to focus on fitness or spend time with their families do so based on personal choice, not societal pressure.

Recalling a past incident from over eight years ago, Salman revealed how he tracked down and confronted a person who had posted highly offensive comments about him, with the help of cyber cell authorities. The individual later apologized to his family, prompting Salman to forgive him.

The actor underscored that criticism should be directed at work, not individuals. “If you don’t like a film, don’t watch it. We do our best to entertain. Just because you buy a ticket to watch a film doesn’t mean you have the right to insult us,” he said.

Salman also urged viewers not to be depressed by reckless comments on social media. He clarified that celebrities and influencers are entitled to their personal opinions, especially regarding political matters, and should not be judged for their views.

In conclusion, Salman expressed respect for his fans and clarified, “If you don’t want to watch our films, don’t. But remember, we work hard to entertain you, and that effort deserves respect.”
