Sep 21, Kathmandu - Prime Minister Balen Shah met with leaders of the Nepali Congress ahead of his upcoming address at the United Nations General Assembly.

On Monday, at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers' Office in Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Shah held discussions with Nepali Congress Vice Chairman Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Parliamentary Party Leader Bhishma Raj Angdembe.

The Prime Minister’s Secretariat stated that the meeting was part of essential consultations before the UN General Assembly, inviting representatives from the main opposition party for discussions.

Sharma informed that the Congress delegation conveyed their views on the topics suitable for discussion at the UNGA and presented their stance to the Prime Minister.

“We have presented the party President Gagan Thapa’s and the entire Congress’s stance to the Prime Minister. We also wanted to send a message that the entire country stands with him. We hope he will internationalize the Bhote Koshi disaster and successfully draw global attention. While addressing the US, he should remember the pain of Texas,” Sharma said.

Prime Minister Shah is scheduled to depart for the United States on Tuesday afternoon to participate in the UN General Assembly.
