Sep 26, Kathmandu - Authorities have urged residents in riverside areas of Chitwan to remain highly vigilant as water levels in the Narayani River approach the danger mark.

The Flood Forecasting Division issued the warning on Sunday morning, citing a rising flood flow. At 2:10 p.m. Saturday, measurements at the Devghat river gauge showed the water level near the danger threshold and continuing to rise.

With flood risk increasing, the division has appealed to people in downstream areas and settlements prone to inundation to stay alert and move to safety if needed.
