Sep 27, Kathmandu - Shree Prakash Secondary School in Barahakshetra Municipality-10 has begun practical computer classes to help students develop information technology skills.

The school has formed separate groups for students in Grades 4 to 9, with classes held on Saturdays and Sundays outside regular school hours to avoid disrupting lessons, Headteacher Chudamani Khanal said.

The school repaired 17 computers already on its premises so students could learn through hands-on practice. Lessons cover basic computer knowledge, how to operate a computer and the use of fundamental technology, teacher Bimal Niraula said.

Students have started using the computers themselves as part of the new classes. The school, which teaches in both Nepali and English and offers education through Grade 12, said it is prioritizing computer education as it works to make teaching and learning more technology-friendly.

Established in 1964, Shree Prakash Secondary School has also seen student enrollment rise in recent years.
