Sep 29, Kathmandu - Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) spokesperson and lawmaker Jagadish Kharel has urged the government to rename the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund as the “Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.”

Kharel said disasters are not caused by divine intervention, but result from natural or human-made factors. He said he had raised the proposal in Parliament and was awaiting the Prime Minister’s response.

Kharel also called for a change in leadership at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, arguing that a joint secretary is unable to effectively lead the agency.
