Sep 29, Kathmandu - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam said the government introduced the Bill to Revive Provisions of Certain Nepal Acts, 2083 to address a legal gap concerning the removal of public officials.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Gautam responded to questions raised during discussion on a proposal to consider the bill. She said provisions had become inactive after an ordinance on the removal of public officials lapsed, leaving a legal vacuum.

The government had earlier issued the ordinance to amend laws needed to implement its policy decisions, she said. The bill has now been introduced solely to restore continuity to those inactive provisions.

Gautam said the bill’s main purpose is to close the legal gap and revive the relevant provisions.
