Traffic Resumes on BP Highway after Clearing Mud

Oct 10, Kathmandu - Due to incessant rains overnight, the road under construction on the BP Highway has been cleared and traffic has resumed.

On Saturday morning, the section between Narke and Pinthali (about 3 kilometers from Mangaltar towards Bhakunde) along the BP Highway was completely blocked due to the heavy rains and landslides.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, immediately after the road was blocked, security personnel and technical teams intensified the work of clearing the road with the help of dozers. The local administration has stated that the vehicles that were stopped have started leaving for their destinations after clearing the accumulated mud on the road.

Although the road is open, drivers have been urged to travel carefully as it is an under construction section.
