BP Highway Obstructed due to Continuous Rainfall

Oct 31, Kathmandu - The BP Highway has been obstructed due to continuous rainfall. In Pinthali, located in Ward No. 5 of Roshi Rural Municipality, Kavrepalanchok, debris—consisting of stones, soil, and mud—from a seasonal stream has accumulated on the road.

Additionally, in Gimdibesi (Ward No. 8, Roshi Rural Municipality), a landslide has completely blocked the highway in both directions. Police Inspector Santosh Shrestha, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office in Kavrepalanchok, stated that the road is obstructed and that the risk of further landslides and debris flow persists. He also reported that landslides have occurred at various locations along the Arniko Highway.

Following the obstruction of the highway, vehicles traveling from the direction of Kathmandu have been halted at various points within Kavrepalanchok. The police have advised the public to refrain from traveling until official confirmation is received that the road has reopened; even in cases of absolute necessity, travelers are urged to verify the current road conditions before setting out.
