March 13, Kathmandu- Nepal Police Club has won the title of Kathmandu Mayor's Cup ODI Cricket Tournament.
Police Club defeated APF Club of the Armed Police Force by eight wickets in the final match played at the Tribhuvan Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Saturday.
Along with the title, the Police Club has received a prize of Rs 500,000. The runner-up APF Club has received a prize of Rs 300,000. APF Club won the toss and elected to bat. The Nepal Police Club set a target of 106 runs for the victory. Police Club completed the target of 106 runs by losing two wickets in 24 overs.
Sunil Dhamala contributed unbeaten 59 runs for the Police Club. He hit two sixes and seven fours off 82 balls. Similarly, Dipendra Singh Airy scored 11 not out, Kushal Bhurtel 15 and Anil Sah 15 runs.
APF's Abhinash Bohara and Bhuvan Karki took one wicket each.
Earlier, batting first, The APF Club lost all their wickets in 29 overs and scored only 105 runs. APF lost the first wicket by five runs. With the team's score at 10, he lost three important wickets. Shankar Rana returned to the pavilion with four runs and Asif Sheikh and Sharad Bheswakar without any runs.
Similarly, Bhuvan Karki scored 14, Sandeep Jora 18, Basanta Regmi 22, Abhinash Bohara 12 and Amar Rautela 18 runs.
Gulsan Jha and Sagar Dhakal took four wickets each. Similarly, Pawan Sarraf and Lalit Rajbanshi took one wicket each. Along with the police and APF, Nepal Army's Tribhuvan Army Club, Bagmati Pradesh and Kathmandu Mayor-11 participated in the competition.
