March 24, Kathmandu - The date of the NBA Cup National Badminton Championship organized by the Nepal Badminton Association (NBA) has been changed. The NBA has stated that the time had to be changed due to the busy schedule of the championship covered hall which is scheduled to be held from 15 to 18 April.
Ramji Bahadur Shrestha, president of the organizing association, said, "Now, when the championship comes, it will be held from March 28 to 31, 2021 A.D."
The competition will be held at the Covered Hall of Dasharath Stadium. Players of the district badminton association affiliated to the association and the remaining districts, divisional teams of the Nepal Army, Tribhuvan Army Club of the Nepal Army, Police Club of the Nepal Police, and APF Club of the Armed Police Force will be able to participate in the ranking competition.
The top three winners of the men's and women's singles will receive medals and certificates worth Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, and Rs 12,500 respectively.
Similarly, the top three couples will receive medals and certificates worth Rs 30,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 7,500 respectively. The top three winners of U-17 Boys and Girls will receive cash prizes of Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000, and Rs 5,000, medals, and certificates.
Each district has been allotted two men's and two women's quotas in addition to the men's and women's top 16 rankings for the championship to be played as per the rules of the World Badminton Federation.
The U-17 side also has a quota of 2 boys and 2 girls for each district and each team will have a coach and a manager.
Each of the players, coaches, and managers in the quota will get 800 rupees in cash.
